Friday Night Lights

The TV series, gave Gray and I a little bit of inspiration. . . Moving to a new city can provide you with lots of free time, especially when you don’t have a job (yet). So Gray and I thought, “what better time to start a TV series and finish it.” Glad we did, but I’m glad its over too. I’m under the impression that shows with large amounts of drama are best watched on a weekly basis, not an hourly basis. The rabbit trail is now over, needless to say if you’ve seen the show, there is a character named Tim Riggins, and if I do say so myself, he’s a really interesting fellow. Gray and I really liked him and so the newest edition to our family was given the name Riggins. He’s the cutest little fart. We went on a whim one day to the Humane Society and walked out without a dog. If you know us this is pretty miraculous. If we have our minds set on something we don’t usually come to the end empty handed, but it was for the best because that day we didn’t even meet Riggs. We went to another place, but didn’t find anything there either. Mainly because all the puppies had some virus that didn’t allow people to see them . . . Eventually we came back to the first place and found our baby :). A two month old boxer/hound. He’s a handful, but we love him! . . . sometimes.IMG_9391IMG_9392IMG_9396

Having a new puppy includes lots of walks so last week we went to Paris State Park to walk around the lake. Riggs met some friends and I enjoyed the scenery.IMG_9405IMG_9410IMG_9413IMG_9419IMG_9423IMG_9431IMG_9433IMG_9436IMG_9443IMG_9445

Tiffani & Jon

I had an awesome opportunity over Christmas break. Tiffani and Jon Decker allowed me the special privilege of capturing their beautiful wedding! Even though, by the end of the day I was exhausted, I can truly say I had a fantastic time! It definitely helped that Tiffani and Jon were so fun and easy to work with. Tiff even did some “work” beforehand (yeah!), by checking out her pinterest board I got some great ideas of what she was looking for in a photographer. Side note, I love pinterest. Tiff and Jon thank you so much for the amazing opportunity and here’s to wishing you the best in your new marriage!

Also, I definitely need to thank my helpers and encouragers; my right hand woman/dress-fixer/prop-holder, Francesca, and my handsome man Gray/back-up-photographer. There are a lot of small events that contribute to the large event on a wedding day (i.e. getting ready, unity candle, first dance, just to name a few), and they truly helped my cover all the bases. I have to say, making sure I was in the middle of everything was difficult, but extremely rewarding. At times it didn’t help that I’m a really big perfectionist, I need to learn that getting frustrated with myself when I miss the chance to capture “the perfect shot,” isn’t worth it (after all I’m not perfect even though I wish I were), I just need to say “oh well” and look for the next chance because it will come. Overall, for my first wedding, if I’m not too critical I think I did pretty well. But don’t take it from me, judge for yourself! I do believe I made the bride and groom happy and to be honest, that’s what matters most to me. So without further ado, here’s a snapshot of their day . . .

Five Random Things

Today I’m trying something new. I’m doing some linking. 🙂 A blog I follow titled, “The Style Hatch” is hosting 5 Random Things Link Up. If you’re interested in joining check out her page, grab the button, and let us in on five random facts about yourself. Here are mine:

1. I have several passions, but three of my favorite are spending time with my husband, tea (every type and flavor except earl grey), and photography.

2. I’ve never had a brother; I’m the oldest of four girls and I married into a family with two girls (+ 1 boy =  my husband)

3. Grayson (my husband) has several guilty pleasures which include, Friday Night Lights (TV series) and One Tree Hill, score!

4. I started this blog with Gray because we decided to study in Spain for a whole semester (bad but good decision, if you know what I mean)

5. Minced garlic makes me shutter, bad 13th birthday party memories . . .

Just a little bit of cheer . . .

I know it’s been ages, but life was so exciting and busy (in the best way) that blogging just pushed itself to the farthest recesses of our brains. But now we’re back, three weeks later, living in South Carolina, on our own, in our own apartment HALLELUJAH! The freedom is overwhelming at times. 🙂

Well there really is too much to tell so instead I am summing up our Holiday experiences with pictures. They are quite random at times, but suffice it to say, there was lots of family time.

Foggy holiday mornings . . .
